URGENT! Protect MO's
Minimum Wage for Tipped Employees
In 2006, 76.4% of Missourians voted to
pass Proposition B to raise the wage for ALL Missouri workers,
including tipped employees.Now, House Bill 258 is threatening to
roll back the minimum wage for tipped employees to that of 15
years ago.
We must act NOW! CLICK HERE NOW, to
tell the Missouri House of Representatives that the citizens of
Missouri want to protect the wages of 53,240 tipped
employees.

Weekend
Join union members on site visits to support
the workers at Lumiere Casino as they gear up to vote on union
representation on February 27th. Please show your support
as the company is running an anti-union
campaign. Departments involved include: Burger Bar,
Bartenders, Cocktail servers, All Buffet workers, housekeepers,
cage, slot workers, valet and shuttle drivers.
Please wear your union colors as
you visit the casino, talk to the workers and let them know that
you are union brothers and sisters.Lumiere Casino is located on
Laclede's Landing, 999 N. Second St,
St. Louis. Take action anytime (the casino is open 24
hours) on February 20 and 21. For more information

9:45-11:45 AM- Training; 12 PM- Rally GRO Advocacy training and Medicaid
rally
Grassroots Organizing (GRO) will
provide a People's Advocacy Workshop from 9:45 to 11:45 AM in
Hearing Room #7 in the Capitol basement. Following the training
there will be a noon Medicaid Restoration
Rally.
GRO will also be staffing an
information table in the rotunda for people to look-up their
State Representatives and Senators as well as answer any
questions.
GRO will be
providing lunch and limited transportation for individuals that
contacts them by Monday February 23, 2009. Please

Day
Join the Missouri
Rural Crisis Center along with family farmers, rural citizens
and consumers at the State Capitol to show your support for
family farms, local control, and healthy food. Let your legislators know
that you will not support any bill that takes local control from
farmers or supports corporate agribusiness at the expense of
Missouri’s family farmers.
