TELL THEM:  

Fix Health Care Now!!  We need REAL health care reform so that every person in our country can afford the medical services they need. 

• We want choices between a Public Plan and private plans. 
• We want affordable health care--Congress must limit the costs of health for all of us.
• Strengthen Medicaid and Medicare—good programs that work!

What’s at Stake in Federal Health Care Reform

Health care reform efforts are currently moving in Congress.  There are many components of federal health care reform that will have significant impact on whether working people in Missouri will have quality, affordable health care. 

Four key issues must be resolved if Congress is to enact effective, meaningful reform:

1. There must be a public option administered on a national scale, in addition to private market choices.
2. Health insurance must be affordable for people no matter where you live, how much money you make, your age or existing medical conditions.
3. Medicaid and Medicare must be strengthened in the federal health care reform process.  This includes providing services that allow retired workers and people with disabilities to receive services to keep them independent, working or in their homes. 
4. Health reform must be fully and fairly financed.
