THANK YOU GOVERNOR CRIST FOR THE SB 900 VETO!

Governor Crist made good on his pledge to protect the right of the people to amend their constitution through the ballot initiative by issuing a veto of SB 900, a bill that would have further eroded this important right. Big business groups have been working for years to restrict our right to the amend Florida's Constitution and SB 900 would have been the last straw. We must let the Governor know that we appreciate his stand for the people against the powerful. Send him a message and let him know that you are paying attention and thank him for his principled stand.

The right for the people to amend the Constitution in Florida is an important one and has greatly contributed to the quality of life and civic involvement in our great state. In recent years, the real special interests in Tallahassee have chiseled away at that right and SB 900 would have been the final blow. Thanks to you, real citizens' groups will still be able to use this avenue to help implement policy changes that the people want, but the money interests in Tallahassee don't want them to have. You acted as the "People's Governor" when you vetoed this bill. Thank you so much for doing the right thing on SB 900. I hope I can count on you to continue to protect the people's ballot initiative.
