Washingtonians Take Action

The Washington State legislature has three bills on the issue of offshore outsourcing.  One bill would prohibit state services contracts from moving overseas, the second would require public disclosure on state contracts that have been offshored and the third would create a task force to study the economic impacts on the state. 

We need your support to get these bills passed. 

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I am writing today to encourage you to support the three bills that have been introduced in the legislature that address the issue of offshore outsourcing.

-HB 1724 would require public disclosure of outsourcing on state contracts -HB 1725 would prohibit the offshoring of work under state contracts -HCR 4405 would create a task force to study offshore outsourcing.

Companion bills have also been introduced in the Senate.

The Washington economy is sufferning, not due to a bad business climate, but becuase our state government and private companies are sending good paying jobs overseas.

My tax dollars should go to support creating jobs in Washington and the U.S. not overseas.

We also need to study the impacts of offshore outsourcing in Washington's economy.
