Subject: Support a Fair Decision on the Air Force Tanker Contract

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

In light of a General Accounting Office report finding a range of deficiencies in the previous award of the $40 billion Air Force tanker contract, we ask you to help reverse the contract award and give the American workers at Boeing who rightly won the award in the first place a chance to proceed.

The GAO found serious flaws in the awarding of the contract to Airbus, a company that receives subsidies from the French government. The contract bid was plagued by accounting errors, misinterpretations and failure to follow rules, according to the GAO report.

The tanker contract would provide tens of thousands of outstanding jobs during tough economic times. An estimated 3,000 excellent middle-class jobs would be located in Texas. Boeing's workers will build a superior tanker that will serve our nation well.

The Air Force should award the contract to the Boeing bid, which won under the rules. We also ask you to support a full investigation to make sure that all bidding processes, whether in the defense industry or elsewhere, give American workers a fair chance to compete.

Thank you for supporting good jobs in the U.S.

Sincerely,
