Subject: Please Honor Sen. Gallegos's Wishes During His Absence

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

The Texas Senate is a body governed by great traditions. One of those traditions is that when a Senator is serioulsy ill, the remaining senators step in and see that his district does not go unrepresented during his absence.

As you know, Sen. Mario Gallegos has endured significant hardship to represent his constituents - and work for the good of the entire state - in the weeks following his liver transplant. Now, on doctors' orders, Sen. Gallegos must finally attend to his physical health and his future for the remainder of the session.

I ask you to continue the Senate's traditions and honor the wishes Sen. Gallegos has expressed to the entire Senate to represent District 6 on the key matters that remain in the final 10 days of the legislative session.

As Sen. Gallegos said, this request goes beyond partisanship and the temporary passions that arise on legislation. It is a request that honors the Senate's traditions, and I ask you to continue those traditions for the good of Texas.

Sincerely,
