2009
- Make Your Voice Heard for Real Health-Care Reform: Call
Congress, Toll-Free, on November 5
- Rally for Health-Care Reform at the State Capitol, Saturday,
November 14
Call Congress for Health-Care Reform This
Thursday: On November 5, members of AFT and allied
organizations have a chance to tip the balance in favor of real
health-care reform on the national level.
We urge all members to call their member of the U.S. House on
Thursday via the toll-free line to Congress provided by the
national AFL-CIO, 1-877-323-5246.
House members are expected to start voting on a major
health-care overhaul later this week, and debate could continue
over the weekend and into next week. So your call on Thursday
will be perfectly timed.
Your message can be quick and to the point: Just ask your member
of the U.S. House to support:
- full access to health care for all Americans, including
those with pre-existing conditions;
- reduced health-care costs;
- a strong public option to inject real competition into the
system; and
- a funding mechanism that treats working Americans and their
families fairly.
The bottom line: Real health-care reform can't wait!
