List of Asks to the Field

Nov. 3^rd – Nov. 13^th

• Organize local unions to sticker-up and leaflet worksites, generating calls and petition signatures.  Please send us the list of local unions and worksite information ASAP.
• Identify opportunities to generate high volumes of phone calls, letters and petition signatures into Congress [i.e. central labor body meetings, local union meetings, coalition meetings, conferences, e-Activist lists, classrooms, churches, etc.].
• Identify and create earned media opportunities.  [i.e. invite the press to a meeting to show them what labor is doing to fight for health reform, team up with Working America who is doing press hits this week, do a press conference in front of your priority member of Congress calling on them to support HR 3962 in this historic time, etc.]. 
• Ask the state and central labor bodies and key affiliates to submit supportive statements of HR 3962 to your local media, copying your state congressional delegation. 
• Ask affiliate leaders to submit letters to the editor in support of HR 3962. 
• Organize state and central labor body and key affiliate leaders to call the priority members of Congress, urging them to support HR 3962. 
• Urge allied organizations and faith leaders to send letters to MOCs. 

 Report all of your activity, including press activity, numbers and intelligence about MOCs' positions on the legislative tracker at:  http://localunion.aflcio.org/leg_tracker .  Please send in separate lists of local unions and worksites lined up for the week of action Nov. 5th - 13th.
