Dear Activist,
The Transport Workers Union is
launching an aggressive health care field campaign to protect
the middle class and ensure that our voices continue to be heard
in the health care debate! Your voice can
make a difference!
The corporate interests who are
fighting us on the Employee Free Choice Act are using the same
dirty tactics to destroy decent and fair health care reform.
Winning the fight for health care
reform can help lead to victories in our fights for the Employee
Free Choice Act and for other key pieces of legislation that are
critical for working families.
Tell Congress to
control cost, guarantee coverage for all Americans, hold
insurance companies and employers accountable, and reject any
new taxes that would hurt working families!
Tell your Senators and Representatives
that you want healthcare reform that includes:
- A government-run public plan option
that will be there for everyone no matter what. It will
cover all Americans, provide competition in the insurance
market, lower costs, steer quality improvements, and keep
insurance companies honest.
- A strong employer-mandate, "Pay or
Play," that will require employers to act responsibly and
provide insurance for their employees or face tough penalties
for noncompliance.
- Absolutely no taxation of our health
benefits, which includes any tax levied on insurers who
offer particular plans. This tax would not hold insurance giants
accountable and, instead, would encourage employers to drop
coverage, offer less coverage, or pass the cost of the tax on to
employees in the form of higher cost-sharing and premiums.
We need your help in this health care
reform campaign and we need it now. Just CLICK HERE to CALL
CONGRESS right now and demand fair, quality health care that
everyone can afford!
