UNAC/UHCP Action Center
Outrageous Attack by Sharp

It's OUTRAGEOUS!

On Tuesday, UNAC/UHCP exposed Sharp HealthCare’s abysmal record on charity care in our community.

On Thursday, Sharp responded by attacking us and our voice on the job!

The company wants to kick practically all of the RNs out of our union. Citing the National Labor Relations Board’s notorious “Kentucky River” ruling, Sharp wants anyone who:

  • Is an Advanced Clinician,
  • Precepts other nurses more than once every three months, or
  • Works as a charge nurse more than once every three months

to be excluded from the bargaining unit and prevented from being an effective advocate for our patients.

Sharp management is skimping on charity care and attacking our voice. They are steadfastly refusing to incorporate our contract proposals on quality patient care such as ratios, a working acuity system, patient classification committee, and quality liaisons.

It's time to tell Sharp CEO Michael Murphy that you are disgusted by Sharp's attacks on nurses!

Subject: Stop Attacking Sharp Nurses

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

I'm calling on you to stop your attacks on Sharp's registered nurses.

During contract talks, your negotiators proposed kicking practically all of the RNs out of the bargaining unit. We are the nurses taking care of patients every single day. We are the front line soldiers in the struggle for quality patient care.

It's time for you to stop attacking us and start respecting our voices. Instead of trying to bust our union, you should be listening to our input on how to improve Sharp.

Sincerely,
