Camillus Cutlery Strike

Camillus Cutlery is America's oldest knife manufacturer. The company has proposed eliminating health care for any military personnel that is called up to service, that the company would unilaterally decide what the work week is for the workforce, and a decrease of 48% of the wages. The workers are fighting this company and they will need the help of every person to win their fight.

Subject: Settle the Camillus Cutlery Strike Now

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

As a consumer, I am deeply troubled by the strike at Camillus Cutlery. These workers produce the best knives and blades in the world. Being that these workers produce the best knives and blades in the world, they deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.

I support these workers, and demand that you negotiate in good faith with your workforce. They produce the best for you - in return, the workers and the Central New York community warrant better treatment.

Sincerely,

Background Information

Camillus Cutlery produce some of the best knives and blades in the world. The company also claims to be an, "an all-American company with humble beginnings." How American is it to eliminate health care from military personnel that are calling into service? Or how American is it to ask for a 48% reduction in wages?

These workers deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. The company has put out a proposal which is an insult to the workforce. We need to send a message to the company that the workforce needs to be treated with dignity and respect.

Companies need to know that Syracuse is a Union City and union busting will not be tolerated.
