Union Rights Will dismantle collective bargaining rights. Supports the rights of all employees to form unions and to bargain collectively.
Job Protection Will lay off thousands. Christie will impose unilateral layoffs of up to 20,000 employees, including those who work in higher education. Protects jobs. Worked with unions at the bargaining table to protect jobs in the midst of a state budget shortfall.
State Budget Funding Opposes federal assistance for higher education. Restored funding for higher education.

Union Leadership Academy Sessions Start in Nov.

The Union Leadership Academy (ULA) is designed to provide union members with information to help them better understand the social, political and economic forces that have an impact on unions and workers and to develop strategies and programs to benefit unions, workers and their communities.

URA-AFT covers the $60 registration for members to attend ULA courses. Register with URA-AFT member Debbie McNeil using the form at http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~rulabor/Registration.pdf and select "Bill my union" at the bottom of the form. Then email union@ura-aft.org to register your name for the payment and make sure you have a signed membership application on file.
