Tell Governor Corzine: Save Bayone Hospital

Join members of the Health Professionals and Allied Employees (HPAE) as they call on Governor Corzine to help keep Bayonne Medical Center open. Members from HPAE Local 5185 at Bayonne Medical Center will be holding a press conference at 12:00 noon in Room 109 of the NJ Statehouse in Trenton calling. The union will present the Governor with a petition of 31,000 signatures from the local community calling on the state to take action to keep this important community hospital open.

After years of mismanagement and fiscal irresponsibility by management, Bayonne Medical Center has filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is in danger of closing. Throughout New Jersey, and the nation, local community hospitals are closing at a rapid rate. This poses a serious threat to the health and welfare of our communities. Our communities should not suffer because of the negligence of hospital management.

Throughout New Jersey, and the nation, local community hospitals are closing at a rapid rate. This poses a serious threat to the health and welfare of our communities. Our local communities should not suffer because of the negligence of hospital management. I respectfully ask that the state take action in saving this community hospital for the benefit of residents of Bayonne.
