On Monday, August 31, 2009, the workers from four area nursing
homes
(Harbor View, Castle Hill, Bristol Manor and Palisade) will hold
a
rally outside at the headquarters of nursing home owner Avery
Eisenreich’s Omni Asset Management Corporation located at
26
Journal Square in Jersey City from 1pm - 5pm.<br>

Join community and clergy leaders and 1199SEIU members from 3
states in
calling for: <br>
<br>
• Eisenreich to negotiate fairly and immediately;<br>
<br>
• A conclusion to the 2–year struggle of Omni
workers to improve working conditions and raise healthcare
standards at
Eisenreich’s Harbor View, Castle Hill, Bristol Manor and
Palisade nursing homes. <br>
<br>
The workers at the nursing homes held a three strike in hopes of
winning a contract after a two year struggle. After the strike,
management terminated fourteen leaders of the union. We demand
immediate restitution for the “Omni 14,” who were
unjustly terminated for participating in a legal 3-day unfair
labor
practice strike!<br>
