Certify Christine Gregoire
As you know, Christine Gregoire's gubanatorial election has already been certified by the Secretary of State. Tomorrow, the state legislature will also certify the election as fair and complete. However, some members of the Republican party still hope to overturn the election and are holding a rally in Olympia tomorrow to press their case. They have blanketed the state with a media blitz of television, radio, and newspaper ads. They claim they'll have as many as 10,000 supporters at the State Capitol on Tuesday to protest and to delay Governor-elect Gregoire's certification.
The Washington State Democrats are asking your help to urge your legislator to certify the vote by attending a counter-rally if possible. Or, at the very least, by writing your legislator or local newspapers.
You can contact your legislator by calling the state Legislative Hotline toll free at 1-800-562-6000 as soon as possible (before the certification vote at 10:30 a.m.) or by sending the e-mail message below (feel free to modify it) to your legislator via GetActive.
