Greetings,
A very destructive Tim Eyman initiative is heading to your
town and county if it passes the ballot on November 3rd.
Eyman's Initiative 1033 puts a straightjacket on state
revenue by locking in the nearly $4 billion in reductions to
education, health care, parks and libraries, and other cuts the
Legislature made during the last session. It's a cookie-cutter,
one-size-fits-all approach to government spending. It will
impact not only state government but will also become the
baseline for all future spending at the city and county levels,
too.
Things are bad enough. Because of the economy, 40,000
low-income people in Washington lost their health insurance.
$1.5 billion has been slashed from education. As many as 3,000
teachers and school employees face layoffs. Faculty have lost
their jobs and community and technical college programs have
been eliminated at a time our state has had soaring enrollment
in two-year colleges because of unemployment.

worse!
Please take a pledge to vote No on I-1033!
