Stop McDonald's Outsourcing

America has lost millions of good jobs because big companies have been exporting U.S. jobs to low-wage foreign countries. Now they’re exporting jobs to North Dakota.

Right now a total of 5 McDonald's restaurants in Oregon and southeastern Washington are outsourcing their drive-up window order-taking to a call center 1,300 miles away, in Grand Forks, N.D. There the minimum wage is $5.15 an hour, compared with Oregon's $7.25. If successful, a total of 50 McDonald's are expected to be on line within a few months.

Subject: McDonald's: Stop Exporting Jobs

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

Working families in America already are suffering because big companies are exporting jobs to low-wage countries. I am very disappointed to learn that McDonald's is moving order-taking at drive-up windows to call centers in lower-wage states. When I order food from McDonald's, I don't want to be ordering "jobs to go."

Please abandon your experiment with shipping job responsibilities to states with a lower minimum wage. People in your community buy your burgers. They should get the jobs.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
