Tell your senators to stop the Bush administration's court-packing plan.

The Bush administration is trying to pack the federal courts with ultraconservative judges with views and records hostile to workers, civil rights and environmental and consumer protections. Tell your senators to stand up against these court-packing plans.

Subject: Oppose Bush's Court-Packing Plans

Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,

The federal courts are crucially important to working men and women and their unions because they decide cases involving some of our most fundamental laws and protections, such as the right to a minimum wage and a safe workplace and the right to organize a union.

I am very opposed to the Bush administration's efforts to pack the federal courts with ultraconservative appointees who threaten to roll back our rights. In particular, I am concerned about several nominees currently awaiting Senate action, including Priscilla Owen, Miguel Estrada and Carolyn Kuhl, whose records reflect a hostility to the interests of working people.

It's up to the Senate to protect our rights. As a constituent, I am asking you to stand up against the Bush administration's court-packing plans, to reject extremist nominees like Priscilla Owen, Miguel Estrada and Carolyn Kuhl and to insist on a fair and balanced judiciary with judges who reflect mainstream America.

Sincerely,
