Tell the Labor Department: Stop Attacks that Would Weaken Unions
Your help is needed today to stop proposed new regulations that would weaken unions and silence the voice of working families.
Please add a sentence or paragraph in your own words at the beginning of the letter. (For example, "I have been a union member for 10 years and having a voice through my union is very important to me.") Your comments will be delivered automatically to the Department of Labor to make it part of the official record of opposition to these burdensome, unnecessary and unfair new rules.

Subject:
Dear [ Decision Maker ] ,
I am writing to object to the Bush administration's most recent regulation of workers and the unions that represent us.
The proposed regulations are not necessary. Unions already compile and make public extensive information about how union members' dues are spent--down to and including staff salaries. If the administration was serious about regulations to protect workers, it would back more disclosure to prevent and expose corporate scandals, which have cost workers dearly in jobs and retirement savings, instead of demanding new regulatory burdens on unions.
I urge you to strongly oppose these unnecessary new reporting requirements that would hurt, not help, unions and union members.
Sincerely,
|
