What's at stake: A fair contract with pay raises and no takeaways.
It's important to keep health care costs in check. If they continue to skyrocket, they jeopardize any gains that might be made by a negotiated cost-of-living adjustment.
We take this risk seriously - and this month, it was pressure from us and our fellow union members that convinced the state to reverse its plans to dramatically increase our share of health insurance premiums. The Governor deserves our thanks for responding to our voices.
Now we have to keep the pressure on, to ensure that state negotiators bargain in good faith over the rest of our contract! |
