Greetings,

Food Drive 2009

Since many of you do your food shopping on the weekend, Karen asked that you be reminded that the WPCLB is collecting food for those in need. This year it is even more important because so many of our own members are out of work and have been forced to go to the food pantries for help. If any of your locals have been helping their members provide food for their families, we would like to know so some of the food we collect can help them.

While you are out shopping please pick up a few extra items to help with the drive. We can use any kind of non-perishables particularly cereal, baby food, canned meats and fish, soups, peanut butter, jelly, canned fruits and vegetables, rice, stuffing, pasta, canned stew, chili and spaghetti sauce. We can also use supermarket gift cards from UNION supermarkets such as A and P, Pathmark, Shop Rite, and Stop and Shop. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, make a check out to the WPCLB and we will purchase food or grocery cards with the money.

Items should be brought to the WPCLB office at 33 Oakland Ave., Harrison  or to the November 10th Delegate Meeting which will be held at NYSUT, 520 White Plains Road, 4th Floor, Tarrytown, New York 10591.
